About this course
Laser and IPL treatments are only as safe as the practitioner's understanding of light. This course covers the physics in practical terms: how laser light is produced and how it differs from IPL, wavelength and chromophores, selective photothermolysis, pulse duration and thermal relaxation, fluence, spot size and cooling, and how these settings change the effect on tissue.
It is device-independent theory. It supports the core knowledge expected of laser practitioners in the UK but does not itself certify competence on any device.
Who it is for: Anyone entering laser or light-based treatment, and practitioners refreshing their core knowledge.
