About this course
Infection prevention is the quiet foundation of safe aesthetics. This course takes the standard principles of infection control and applies them to what actually happens in a treatment room: skin preparation, aseptic non-touch technique, single-use items, sharps handling, decontamination and clinical waste.
It is written for aesthetic settings in the UK, including the expectations that local authorities, insurers and inspection frameworks place on premises and practitioners.
Who it is for: Every practitioner and every member of clinic staff.
What you will be able to do
- Explain the chain of infection and how each link is broken in practice.
- Apply correct hand hygiene, glove use and personal protective equipment.
- Prepare skin and equipment using aseptic non-touch technique.
- Handle and dispose of sharps and clinical waste correctly.
- Set up, clean and audit a treatment room to a defensible standard.
