About this course
Good patient selection is a clinical skill in its own right. This course covers absolute and relative contraindications across the main aesthetic treatment groups, the medical history questions that matter, medications and conditions that change the plan, and how to refer or defer with confidence.
It also addresses psychological suitability, including body dysmorphic disorder screening, and the practitioner's responsibility to decline treatment that is not in the client's interest.
Who it is for: Practitioners across injectables, skin and laser.
What you will be able to do
- Distinguish absolute from relative contraindications and apply them to a treatment plan.
- Take a medical history that surfaces the conditions and medications that matter.
- Screen for psychological suitability and know when to refer.
- Explain to a client why a treatment is being declined or deferred.
- Record suitability decisions in a defensible way.
